Well the .htacess file code required would be:

RewriteRule ^\\(.+)\\$ index.php?page=$1 [QSA,NC,L]

And the long list of directory exceptions that go with it.

I have something that works, and a reply by Jaani in another thread that is quite elegant.

There are now quite a few threads on this forum requesting this sort of funcitonality but none that work form within the CMS admin (Jaani's sort of does).
