Hi!
My provider upgraded to a newer version of Php (5) and MySQL (4.1.20).
CMS made simple didn't work any more after this update.
Therefore I upgraded to the newest version.
I have changed the configuration file of CMSMS (because my homedir was changed from /home/var/... -> var/home/...)
I have downloaded CMSMS version 1.1 and went to the install/upgrade.php file.
I received only a blank page, and in the server error log I found that there were problems with the modules guestbook and captcha, so I removed them.
And I started again with the upgrade. First page went ok, second page I came untill:
Creating ChangeGroupAssign events...[done]
Updating schema version... [done]
Creating "Modify Events" permission...[done]
Updating schema version... [done]
When I go to the homepage: kjr.mensink.nu I get now a 'file-not-found-error!'
In the error log file I found the following (sorry will be quite long)
------------

Can anyone help me, what is wrong?
The directory which occurs the first error
/var/www/vhosts/mensink.nu/subdomains/kjr/httpdocs/install/smarty/cms/templates_c/
seems not to be there, should it be there, or is the directory wrong?
Help?!?
/tmp and /upload directories do have write acces.
Thanks, Thomas
Upgrade to version 1 failed
Re: Upgrade to version 1 failed
Have you tried to just do install with out creating/writing database and sample templates, step 10, you will have to put passwords in again and select PHP 5...
Re: Upgrade to version 1 failed
Tnx, for your quick reply
I just tried
However, installation seems succesfull, but still if I go to kjr.mensink.nu I receive a 404 Not Found error.
And I cannot login with the login information I just had entered.
It seems that nothing is written to the error log file (which could be positive...)

Re: Upgrade to version 1 failed
Hello,
1°)Your provider has changed paths. Your config.php had old path settings. I bet this is why the upgrade of its infrastructure has broken your CMSms installation. Adjusting paths in config.php (or regenerating a new config.php by rerunning the install wizard without creating the database objects) may have solved the issue.
2°)You were not running the current stable version on a live site on the wild Internet. Beware your old version is less bug proof than current stable (for which at least old known bugs are fixed).
To your install/upgrade point now :
-If you don't use SSH, please check your FTP logs.
-Please tell us from which version you are trying to upgrade (seems 0.x). May be you should process with caution step by step with all version numbers to 1.1.x.
-Is there any URL rewriting mechanism already in action ?
-What are the warnings of the installer ?
-What directories/access rights have you created/granted ? Are they empty when you launch the wizard ?

Re: Upgrade to version 1 failed
Hi!
Also thanks for your quick reply!
I have solved the problem.
It seemed that (for one reason or another) the template table was removed from the databases.
I just started a clean installation with another database.
Afterwards I copied the content of some tables (the content, css etc)
and in the admin I could set the default page and created a new template (I used only two!).
This worked quite convenient!
So thanks for the help, the problem is solved!
