[solved] Home page 404 error

Post by slloyd »

One of my writer's home page is down (404 error), yet all her pages are live and work. For example, her home page http://salt-lake-city.preschoolrock.com gives the 404 error, but her http://salt-lake-city.preschoolrock.com/index.php/home page works.

Any ideas? ???

(yes, I know about the "index.php" thing -- now)

Have you or some one messed with the config.php, for pretty URLs, or added a .htaccess file?...

Or is this in a sub folder and one of the above was done to the root site...

No, it just happened while she was updating her site (adding pages). She doesn't have access to those files; I'm the only one and I didn't touch anything.

Check if the home-page that still works is the default page in "content -> pages". She might have set a page to "default" that isn't active.

That was it! I can't believe I missed that! I figured it would be something simple I was overlooking. Thanks so much for your help. :)
