new model: no status checkbox

hello,
i just installed cms made simple 1.1.
first i then deleted the default news article and created a new one but i can't see any status selection. when i save it the status is draft but i can't change it or even see where i could change it.

does anyone has a clue?

You have to set permission "Approve News For Frontend Display".

If you are the original admin the tips above should maybe do it.
But its also a bug in the News that follow the 1.1 release. This bug makes the additional users not to get the approve from draft to published box. If so try to update to a newser News version for the forge.
