having trouble woth download

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

I have downloaded latest version yet it always defaults to dreamweaver when I go to open files????
Sorry, this is all new and I am deterrmined to nail it.  All help greatly appreciated

How are you trying to use it, on your comp., it should be running on a server or at least server software...

If you want to run it on your comp. you need to install Xampp for windows...

I am running a Mac?? Your advice isnt compatible unfortunately

Hello,

CMSms runs fine on Mac OS X (which is one BSD flavor of unix) where Apache and MySQL are available. Please read the instructions. A local unix install smells like an SSH install without file uploading. Please report which step of the installation procedure causes trouble.
