Adding a column to the right.

Good morning,
I am using "left simple navigation + 1 column"

I would like to add an additional column to the right in order to display a graphic (actually a banner add) Could someone please give me the code that I need to add to the template and the position in the template to make that happen, the column ideally would be 150 pixels wide.
