Content Listing Plugin

Post by Trixter »

I have written a content listing module, and while I am not that much of a front end guy, I tried to make it with compliant CSS and no tables, which is alledgly the 'new standard'. At any rate, I have made this available off my webpage at http://www.0xdecafbad.com/uploads/funct ... st.php.txt

Simply download, rename (strip off the .txt) and place in the plugins directory. Then call it via {articlelist} in your content where you want it (I use it on my error page so people can see what is valid).

A live example (with horrible HTML and grfx - you have been warned I dont do front end :) ) is at http://www.0xdecafbad.com/articles.html If the site is too slow for you, wait a week, its in the process of being moved.

Content Listing Plugin

Looks good. There is a section on the wiki for posting plugins and modules. Might want to put it there.

I was looking for something like that and found this very old post?
Any idea of something like this? Plugin or tag?

Do you mean a sitemap plugin?

There comes someone with CMSms default install. You can call it via {sitemap}.

Or you look here

Not a Sitemap, this I know, this I use.
I mean, the possibility to publish a page with titles, teasers, maybe with little images, for the articles. Like the news page.

I really would like to discuss this subject. Had anyone made such a thing as I described? Maybe I dont need a new plugin, maybe I just need to fulfill and manipulate the correct fields into Edit Content > Options, like I did in that case:

http://www.masc.org.br/arte-educacao/

Look the page, the second box, called "Experiências da arte-educação no MASC" has the sub items of that sections. I use the field "Description" in Edit Content > Options to add some information about the subsections. Now I would like to add a little image (in other project) and limit the number of articles, like the 5 last articles.

Someone can say: "use the news module", but I want something different and I prefer the articles because there I can edit the Page Alias and I have more freedom to add content blocks in the template.

Hope I was clear. Any solution or idea would be great.

Hmm, maybe you can use recently_updated tag (comes with default install)  ::) ...

Don't think so, recently_updated don't have the options I need, like publish an associated image (a custom field), or publish a teaser of the article.
Thank you cyberman. I am not a programmer, but will try to code something.
