converting template to xml

Post by herbshirt »

I've just succesfully followed the 'mint chocolate' tutorial and want to take it a step further. I notice a lot of the downloadable themes are in xml. Upon inspecting the code I suspect it's a program that's doing the conversion (That's some crazy lookin code).

Can anyone tell me how it's done. I've love to upload some themes of my own using the xml format.

Thanks
Herb.

Go to Layout » Theme Manager and check box the one you are going to export, if you don't give it a name it will use theme.xml, I always named them as I had quite a few in the same folder...

When you import it it will have the original name and the name you gave it, as in wireframe2colwnews : wireframe2colwnews and all the CSS/menu template and images get taken with it, the only thing you have to watch for is more than one custom menu template if you use 2 custom menu templates it will only take the first one so try to use only one custom menu template and the others should use default menu templates...
