My first client site

Post by designhut »

(I'm nervous - this is my first submission...please be nice...  :))

This is the first CMSMS site I have done for a client, I know it's not ground-breaking compared with some of the incredible sites on here but they are absolutely over the moon with it, although they went for a banner we didn't like (I gave them three choices for them to switch at will). Isn't it weird passing a site over to a client? I feel like I've given away 'my baby'. Now they can do things I don't like!

I didn't really know what I was doing, even with CSS, but I still managed to create a photobar that the client can change for every page. In fact I ended up having to strip out the booking forms and Google maps I added as the client thought it was 'too professional' for the impression they wanted to give!

I love CMSMS - thanks so much! I have 3 more sites in development.

My own newish CMSMS site (www.designhut.co.uk) is down for maintenance - I'm attempting the 1.1 upgrade...  :-\

Designhut,

I really like the site, I'm only wondering why you choose for a fixed 800 width? Why not flexible or wider.....

Hi Ronny,

Thx for your feedback. It just felt the easy option, to design the banners all the same size. I'm not good enough with CSS yet to do expanding backgrounds, although I can see how it would work. Do you think it's a real flaw with the site?

I first had to search what flaw meant  ;)

No it is not a flaw, but i'm on 1280 width in my explorer, so I have a lot of space on both sides, but the site looks great.

Looks like a nice design.  The only thing I'm not super keen on is the text but that is personal preference.  :)

WOW!!!
This homepage is really really good! Well done!

You dont need to be nervous here, i think everybody here is friendly ;D

Here: http://www.designhut.co.uk/ i would increase the font size for the "You are here..." for 1 px, i think that is enough.

really nice site :)
I really like the navigation bar - very readable and nice subtle colours.
I don't mind the text either, though making it a bit lighter would help it fit in a bit better rather than 100% black.

Very nice - I want to stay there now! :P
