Form Builder Template question

Does anyone know how to have the errors for the form fields display next to each field? so rather than having the list show up on top of the form, they would show up to the right of the field(s) in question.

And does anyone know how to change the email template so it doesn't show any field info if that field wasn't filled out? I'm no good with smarty and also don't know what variables are available.
