I'm afraid I don't know squat about PHP or MySQL, but I wanted to install and experiment with CMSms on my USB drive. I've been following the "Quick Install via FTP" user handbook. Before entering database information (name, user, password), I went to http://localhost/phpmyadmin and created a "cms" database with "Collation" selected. I've been using the default login of root with no password.
When I run the CMSms install, it stops during Step 4 at "Adding module_templates table ..." Everything prior completed as [done.]
I've been trying to dance around and find a solution to this but haven't had any luck so far. Any advice would be great; from what I've read, CMSms could make life a lot easier for me. Thanks!
(XAMMP) Install Trouble - Step 4
Re: (XAMMP) Install Trouble - Step 4
I'm running everything from XAMPP on my USB stick at http://localhost/cmsmadesimple. I'm not sure if I know what else you mean, could you clarify a bit?simonschaufi wrote: have you tried it on your computer yet?
Re: (XAMMP) Install Trouble - Step 4
No longer need help installing, thank you!
I wanted to toy with CMSms locally but after a couple of frustrating days (reinstalling XAMPP, reinstalling CMSms, recreating the database over and over...) I decided to deploy it to my actual site in its own directory. It went on without a hitch, so I don't need to play with my USB key anymore.
Thank you! I'm now off to see what this thing can do.
