I'm doing this with ajax right now. The easiest solution for me was to create a blank template and that way your only loading the content you want and not the whole site template.

Click on the links on the left and you'll see what I mean. The content is coming from a page in the cms with a blank template. Still working out some bugs. Hey do you know jquery very well?
