Should I use CMSMS? Topic is solved

Hi,

This is a general question. I'm in the market for a CMS and I've found CMSMS. I have a potential client that needs (wants) the following. Can CMSMS handle this?

iv) This section must have these basic features:
(1) Bulletin board (requires password access to post, but anybody can read)
(2) About page “what is xxxxx.us”
(3) xxxxx consultants for hire page (will be a map of greater LA with click to go to designated consultant home page)
(4) Next Meeting and other Announcements page
(5) Meeting Signup (requires password to access)
(6) Member Discounts page (requires password to access)
(7) Click here to Join, presents a form which is emailed to me, containing:
(a) User name
(b) Desired “Handle”
(c) email address
(d) Address, City, Zip of Residence/Work
(e) Phone
(8) Automatic Expiration of inactive members.  They will be notified by email 3 times before we eject them from the user group.  They will be ejected if they have not logged into the site in the last 13 months.

From what I've read CMSMS is a good product with a lot of positive word of mouth. I just need to know if the above is something I can implement with it.

Hello,

I think the best way to know if it fits your needs is to try CMSms with the modules News, Calendar, FrontEndUsers, Comments, FormBuilder and FormBrowser (maybe others - jobs...). Install on a fake hosting (xampp...) and play for some hours (one to 3). This way you build your own strong opinion.

I think too it could be done with CMSms but it's a lot of work ...

I am new to cmsms but have 10 years experience with other bulletin boards

From what I can see cmsms will do everthing you want in a website but I would intergate a specialist bulletin board into the site it will be heaps less work and risk of stuff ups

Perhaps WOW bulletin board could be suitable, I think its free to use

I'll check out WOW. Yes, the less work involved, the better. Sometimes people ask for the moon, and they don't need every little nuance, but if I can I'd like to implement as much as I can is the client's spec.

My greatest challenge is the automatic booting of inactive members. I wish I knew more programming, but as it is, I'm tryiing to find something with this capability built in.

Is this a common feature on other sites? I know it would make things easy for my client not to have to delete members by hand, but I'm just wondering. To me it seems like it doesn't matter if someone is active or not. Just leave them on the rolls and if they never log in again, so what? Your thoughts?

You can use FrontEndUser module for that. It has an option to limit time of membership. Think with a little modification it should be possible to deactivate it automatically if there's no login ...
