Hiding non-related content [solved]

Post by pixel8 »

How do I hide content that's not directly related to my site?
e.g. In preview: When I click the 'More' link on the 'News' section on the left hand side of the home page it takes me to that items main page, and at the foot we have 'Previous page: Modules Next page: Menu Manager'
I have taken a screengrab of this and circled it in red: http://www.stg.uk.com/previous-next.jpg

Similarly, when you do a search, content appears that you don't want the end user to see. Another screengrab to illustrate: http://www.stg.uk.com/searchresults.jpg

The next/previous page links can be removed from your page template in 'Layout >> Templates'

and for search, there is a tag to stop the search module from indexing pages that you don't want it to index.
to do this, add

into the content area that you do not want indexed.

Perfect Calgary dude, have just given this a go and it works a treat!
Whilst doing this I came across a quicker way that seems to have worked for the font-end user:
I simply went into 'Current Pages', 'Expand All Sections' and made the ones I didn't want to show up in the search 'inactive'.

Thanks alot, I'm sure won't be my last call!! Cheers  :D
