Performance problems

We upgraded to 1.0.6 a few weeks ago, and since then have been having performance problems. The site worked fine previously under 1.0.1. The machine only has 256 Mb of memory, so this could be the cause of the problem, and it is a fairly busy site, with around 30,000 page impressions per day. Has anyone else found that performance is worse under 1.0.6 ?
