Dual language option, like Joomfish?

Post by Ulysses »

Hi,

Is there (yet) a way to run CMSMS in two languages? Like JoomFish for Joomla, or any other way?

Also, I have seen talk about a Turkish translation. Where can one get that?

Thanks

Don't think so.

What I've done is simply make the menu structure like this
1 english
1.1 homepage
1.2 products...
2 finnish
2.1 kotisivu
2.2 tuotteet

and simply limit the levels shown in the menus. Primary nav starts at the second level and subnavigation at >2. Sometime I also make another template for the other language if the webpage has sitemaps, searches etc.

Real support for multiple languages is not available. Someone did a multilingual version ages ago but it was a separate fork and was not developed further (i believe).

Thank Hare,

That is a good idea for static pages. Not sure how the site search would work though? Can you limit search to menu areas?

Also, I would like a forum, gallery, news and calendar - for members only.

Maybe this is going to be too complicated for CMSMS. But I really don't want to have to use the CMS JoomFish works on  :(
