My server has done an upgrade and it's messed with my CMSMS installation! HELP!

Post by djkirstyjay »

I have a new installation of CMSMS 1.0.6 'Nihau' and my server decided to do a hardware upgrade last night and all the modules have gone to pot and the site won't view as a result.

Here's what it says in my support panel :
The hardware upgrade has been completed sucessfully.Server is now back online.

Server will be brought down shortly for a planned hardware upgrade. If there are any questions or concerns once the upgrade is complete, please open up a support ticket. We will update you with more information shortly.
This site is not live yet, but it's going live within the next week. I was in the process of adding bits and it had only been online about a week, so the database backup is not up to date... things have been changed a lot etc.

I'm not sure if it's a database problem, or the files are wrong... if it's the files, I can upload them to a certain degree and just reinstall the modules... however the permissions on the files when installed via module manager means that I cannot overwrite via FTP, I have to do it ONE-BY-ONE in my file manager... and there's loads!!!... is there a way I can change all the permissions?!

Help!

The website error can be seen here : www.kittystenerife.com/content/

and here is a screenshot of the admin module error message attached.

Any help greatly appreciate :

I have had a reply from my server and apparently it's to do with the fact that they port my sites accross different HardDrives depending on how much space is used... so on original installation, the config wrote home3/ as my root, then it changed to home4/. apparently changing it to just home/ means that it will find it no matter where it is, as this never changes... so I did and it worked.

Phew!

Think, there are only some pathes on server changed. Now you have two options:

1. Create a php file with

Code: Select all

echo $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']
inside. Copy and run it in CMSms root. Than you can adjust your config.php.

2. Or the other option - clear you config.php and run install wizard once again. The only one, you have to notice, you have to deactivate writing database (step 4). To prevent problems I suggest to create a database backup before.

Thanks! Mine's sorted... however if others get the same problem, it will prevent a lot of heatattacks and pulling out of hair. :)
