Does anyone have a way to password protect certain pages within my CMS site? Is that what the "FrontEnd Users" module is for? Any help in detail is appreciated.

FEU gives you the opportunity to register users and assign them to groups. In combination with CustomContent, the module to have seperate menu's for different user-groups you're able to have content-pages available to people that are logged in and belong to that group.
