Help with a Recruitment site

Post by 3D*Glasses »

Hi all, I am in desperate need of some help using CMSMS. I hope you guys can help me out please...

I need to build a recruitment site for a client that will allow them to upload job listings on a daily basis. Each job that they upload will need to have various fields for it such as location, salary, duration, start date, end date etc.

Visitors to the site should be able to register and upload their c.v / resume for each job.

There would also need to be a Job Search section where you can search job by location, salary, experience etc.

From the back-end, the administrator should be able to search a job by a ref code which is applied to the job on initial upload. This will make it easy for them to locate jobs on the database and edit/delete them as appropriate.

Can you guys please point me in the right direction of which modules I can achieve this with please? Are there modules already created to do such stuff or will i need t write them?

I have seen a site in the CMSMS Show off section by harlemangel. The site by harlemangel is a good example of the functionality I need to achieve : www.cregg.ie

All advice and help is very highly appreciated!  :)

Thanks in advance,

3D.

Sounds like a combination of uploads-, formbuilder- and formbrowser module ...

Thanks for your reply Cyberman. Could you or anyone else please elaborate a bit more though? Im at infancy stages with using a CMS, so please excuse my ignorance.

Will I need to write custom codes or scripts? Or can I use the modules you have listed as they are? Could you tell me which module will do what I need for the following. Here are the main things I need to be able to do with CMSMS:

MAIN CRITERIA FOR ADMIN:
1. Admin needs to upload Jobs postings daily.
2. [A unique Ref No. will be assigned to each Job Title on upload by Admin]. Admin needs the Ability to locate and edit/delete the file through a search field.

MAIN CRITERIA FOR USERS:
1. Public should be able to register their details and upload a C.V for Jobs.
2. Employers should be able to register with the site and have a login. Once logged in should be able to upload new Job positions.
3. Public should be able to do detailed search for Jobs. Ex. Location, salary, duration, experience etc.

GENERAL CRITERIA:
1. For example, a Job that is posted should show - Job Title / Location / Salary. When clicked on it will show full details.

I hope someone can help / guide me, Im at my wits ends trying to figure this out! Maybe I've bitten off more than I can chew, but I have no choice but to  jump in at the deep end.  :-\

Thanks in advance everyone!

I think you will need to do some custom coding for this.  There aren't enough pieces pre-existing as modules to do all that you want, and.... considering your special functionality (forms on the frontend for employers, employees, etc).  You will most certainly have to do some custom development.

But.... fear not, custom development with CMS is not as hard as doing it from scratch, and... there is already a jobs module (of sorts) that you may be able to use, or to base yours off of.  Just ask Ted for this module.  He has it safely tucked away I think.

If you need someone to help you with custom development, there are some good people that hang around here that can certainly help you out.
