Menus: howto show only children of current item?

Menus: howto show only children of current item?

Is possible to configure menu, so that it will show only children of current item? I'm using bulletmenu, but I can switch to another... It should be automatic for all menu items. I know about "start_element", but I don't want to have different template for every menu depth.
