Self Registration Module - Need Help

I have setup a new CMS site, and have been very impressed with it.  I'm still learning it, and all but have run into an issue I can't solve myself....

The Self Registration module seems to error out when a user on my site puts in their info to register.  I get an error...

--Add Me - module:FrontEndUsers string:error_noresponsefromserver--

When I add a user manually in the Frontend user Management it works fine, when I log in as that user, the protected pages work perfectly.  The only problem is, users can't register themselves.

I've updated all the modules to the most current availalbe, and even updated the CMSMS to 1.0.6.  But the problem continues.  Anyone have any ideas what is causing this, and how to fix it?

The mail address you enter while registering is not authenticated through SMTP. You can either enter a different address to test or try to switch off SMTP authenfication in CMSMailer Admin.

SMTP authentication is turned off.  I also tried changing the Mailer method to sendmail, from SMTP. 

Error still occurs.  Anything else I need to check?

Sorry, I meant you have to turn off 'Use SMTP to validate email addresses?' in FrontEndUsers Modul, not authentification.

That worked Sonya - Thanks for the help, not sure why I had to turn it off, my hosting is Unix, but no problem.
