"Album" displays album but not thumbnails [solved]

I have searched and searched here and cannot find an answer. Last resort: Post New Topic

I have installed "Album" 8.0.2.

I have assigned my two albums to the "lightbox" template.

I have chosen "lightbox" as my default template.

I have chosen "default" as my multiple albums template.

I have chosen "photo album" as my display page "content type".

I have associated my display page with the "Album Template Stylesheet".

I've deselected the album tag checkbox.

I have changed my File Creation Mask (umask) from "022" to "002" and then to "000".

I've cleared my cache so many times that I feel like I've been to Mexico and had a nice tall glass of their finest local water.

Here's what I have experienced.

After adding one album (six photos), the page displayed all six thumbnails. I was not presented with an album "front door" to click on. And when I clicked the thumbs, everything worked fine.

Then I added another album. At this point, the two albums showed (two thumbs in all), but nothing happened when I clicked the thumbnails. No gallery was generated. And this is the url that is generated:

As I said, I have tried and tried but cannot figure this out. I think I have used every possible permutation of templates. It looks like the app will do exactly what I need, but how to get it to work?

NOTE: My guess is that confusion about the multiple template setup for this app is at least part of the problem. If I get an answer to this, I promise to write a long and detailed how-to.

Here's is where I'll start (this is from the User Handbook for album):

    * Album List Template: - Choose which template is used for the list of Albums
    * Default Template: - Choose the default template that is used for new Albums that you create
    * Template: - Choose the template that is used for a specific Album.

My question: Which templates should be used where? Default? Tables? Pats Imagegallery? Lightbox? Thickbox?

UPDATE: I have resorted to reinstalling the entire thing, module, template, albums, etc. I will post the result here.

Do you mean that on your template, the stylesheet is attached?

In Layout >Templates, I selected the CSS icon to the right of my gallery page template and, yes, attached the "Album Template Stylesheet" to it. When you do so, the breadcrumb in the CMSMS Admin refers to the page as "Current Associations".

Is that right? (At this point, if someone tells me that black is white and up is down, I'm ready to believe it, just as long as it works.)

Yikes, sounds like you've had some frustrations with Album. I'm very sorry about that. I'd love to improve Album and make it easier to use (one way that it will be better in the next version is that the stylesheet will automatically be included on the page)

If I manually change the end of the URL from 'returnid=32' to 'returnid=22' the information displays within the parent page of the page that features the album, so the information is there... I'm just unsure what I'm doing wrong to configure this properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please go to "Content -> Photo Albums" then click on the Options tab and uncheck: "Check this box to show the content of the page with the Album tag above all pictures."

Thank you for the prompt attention.

The "Check this box to show the content of the page with the Album tag above all pictures." is unchecked.

I did, at one point, test with the box checked, but that did not resolve the issue.

The problem must be occurring within the templates I have created for the site. When I create a gallery to appear in a modified version of the "Left simple navigation + 1 column" template, everything works fine (http://www.rockrunrecreation.com/index.php?page=gallery).

and it seems to be working. I opened an image and it opened in the transparant view! Do you still have a problem or is it solved in the meantime.

I think that using the new 'Use Inline Links' option in the SVN version of Album (and the soon to be released 0.9.0 version) would probably fix this issue.

I've been unable to reproduce this problem.

Please paste the Album template that you are using.
Please paste the relevant #URL Settings from config.php

Are you sure you overwrote all Album files?

Thanks for all the work you do that helps Album by reporting, testing, and verifying bugs.

It turns out this bug only occurred on PHP4. I was able to reproduce and fix it.
