Shopping Cart Module

Post by Kayin »

Has anyone considered making this or would be interested in being part of a team to make a shopping cart module for CMSMS?

I've been interested in doing something like this for a while now but I'm not sure how people would react to the idea.

I seriously dislike all the currently existing open source shopping carts and notice there aren't really any out there that integrate nicely to a CMS. Standalone's have the added annoyance of having to be painfully integrated with a CMS. Other standalones just try to be a CMS. It's a mess and quite frankly its time for something come along that is easy to use, part of an existing system to eliminate the integration nightmare, actually possesses a logical template system (much like CMSMS), and doesn't require 800 plugins to adapt to what you want.

It'd be quite a large project, shopping carts come with a lot of issues associated with them. Does this sound interesting to anyone? Either to use or help develop?

I wish that I would understand coding much better as I would like help with things like shopping cart. It would be nice to have something convenient and integrated into CMSms. I think there are things happening with http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/sms so another pair of hands and 10 more fingers with that could be enough to make it standard for CMSms. You find some info also at http://www.nobrain.co.nz/index.php?page ... ade-simple

I could help with frontend HTML and CSS. I'm not much of a php coder - just enough to get by.  BUt, I've customized a few different carts for clients and could at least offer that experience.

I'm currently working on, at the very least, an installation document for quick.cart and how it can be integrated with CMSms.  I'm about 75% done.  If anyone is still interested in quick.cart for CMSms, just respond to this post.  Thanks.
