adding page related graphics to website header?!

Post by nat601 »

hi first off here is the website i am trying to get working.

http://www.polarred.com

my problem is i am trying to get the header graphic to change when a certain page is selected (i.e. when one of the artist pages is selected the yellow stripy part of the header is replaced by a picture of the artist.)

can anyone think of an easy way to do this with out having a seperate template for each page (kind of defeats the point of a cms!)

one thing I did try was inserting the artist graphic in the content of the artist page and then using relative position css  to move it into place over the header. this worked well, except in IE the css menu disappears behind the overlayed graphic, and using z-index doesn't seem to help.

As you can tell from reading this i am just a lowly hack!!! i hope this has not confused people too much, but if anyone has a bright idea I'm all ears  ;D

At the moment I can see myself doing it using multiple templates  :'(

Thanks

Nat
