Page Blocks & Pisearch Conflict. Page Blocks now useless

Post by applejack »

I have just installed Pisearch (1.72) and I am using CMSMS 1.0.5 with Page Blocks (0.1.5) and there are a number of problems which have arisen. When performing a search I get

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare show_toc_child() (previously declared in /serverpath/web/modules/PageBlocks/action.default.php:18) in /serverpath/web/modules/PageBlocks/action.default.php on line 18

Also after the Pisearch install it created the results page with the same number in the page hierarchy as an existing page in this case 4. I deleted this page and created a new Pisearch results page and had to use the reorder pages link in the pages view screen in order to remove the duplication of page numbering.

P.S. I have now discovered that it has rendered Pageblocks useless in that is does not work at all in the admin interface. I have unistalled Pisearch and removed it, still useless, uninstalled Page Blocks and removed it and then reinstalled page Blocks, still useless. Looks like i may have reinstall the whole system from scratch. :-(

--------------------------------------

What I am after is a general site search with a results screen and being able to limit the results to say 20 per page with either a next and previous page links and/or page numbers in order to be able to jump to specific results pages. Is this possible with CMSMS and if so what extensions/modules are there available.

Having been evaluating CMSMS for a couple of weeks now I think that overall it is great but it would be even better if it were able to create categories for content pages and then be able to assign each page to specific categories as this would open up a multitude of possibilities such as restricting searching to specific categories, sub sites, cataloging etc.

All help much appreciated.

Author of Pisearch is no more longer active in this forum / for CMS made simple.

It would be very useful if you would post your changes as patch (or as ful package) here
