permission 755

Post by Metal Beryl »

hello!

can anyone help?!

i have uploaded cmsms to my cgi server.for the files to work i have to set them to chmod 755. The admin all pages are showing without any styling! see the url below for example.

http://www.rapidreality.co.uk/cgi-bin/p ... /login.php

does anyone know whats gone wrong? is it because i have changed the chmod?

cheers

easy to test... blow open the directory to 777 for a minute and see if it fixes it. if it does, work you way down to 775, or give ownership over to apache.

Unless PHP is enabled via a CGI gateway I see no reason to install CMSms under /cgi-bin. This folder has its own permissions because it is security sensitive. You should keep it safe like it is.
You can install CMSms along in /cmsms or /product and tune permissions there without touching /cgi-bin.
Hope it helps, have fun.
