Trying to develop a specific image gallery

I am trying to develop a niche image gallery application and wonder if anyone has done this before? I have checked around the available modules and plugins and have not found it yet, could someone point me in the right direction?

What I am attempting to do is to add the following input field to the admin control panel on the "Add New Content" page, just above the WYSIWYG editor. Additonally the image output on the created web page would appear above the output from the WYSIWYG editor (or content). The default image would be full sized with the optional images appearing underneath the default image as clickable thumbnails.

Is there something existing that does this?

Sorry for my short answer. I forgot quoting. In my daily support I have to read too much threads .

Maybe I was irritated from your posted picture. Not sure but I think Album module has some of features like you want.
