question regarding content categories and listing...

hello everyone
i'm designing a video game portal. it contains reviews, previews, walkthrus and such articles...
i was wondering if it's possible to do some differentiation between different article types? the reason i'm asking this is that i want to be able to show the latest review, preview articles lists separetly to the reader. (also i want to ask if it's possible to do listing of latest (or all) contents with a hyperlink to the actual content)
sorry if i couldn't explain what i'm looking for. an example may help:
let's say i create a new content with a name "Reviews List" then i type something like this: "list{category:Reviews; limit:10}" as the content. and voila: it's a page containing the latest 10 entry(content) for the category review. i know it's faaaaaar from reality but ANY way to do it would be really appreciated...
