FCKEditor view is not similiar to the Website view

Hi all,

my problem is, with FCKEditors WYSIWYG I "DON'T get what I (want to) see".

Let's see on the basic install of CMSMS: the h2 heading is well designed, left block, underlined and so on. If I format a line of text in the FCKEditor with the h2 heading, it looks not similar to that, what I get, if I save the file and look in the frontend.
Another example is: the bullets of a list will be displayed behind/under the left border of the editing area. I know that should be a stylesheet problem, but I don't know what to do.

I have tried the following keywords for my search in this forum: fckeditor, wysiwyg, stylesheets, similar, behaviour, and many more, but I couldn't find much about this problem. In another thread a user wrotes: the textarea have no div tags "main" and "content" but the stylesheets have ... perhaps that is helpful for someone...

Is it possible to have the same looking of the website in the FCKEditor too? On wich file or wich config I have to modify?
I wonder, that there are no other posts with this problem, do you all have no problem with the FCKEditors WYSIWYG-difference?

I use 1.0.2 maui CMSMS and the 1.0.3 version of the FCKEditor.

(for myself its no problem to go source code or that it looks not 100% the same in the editor, but our customer is fussy )

FCKeditor seems to have a lots of problems. 
I'd try out TinyMCE and see if it will work for you needs.

thanks for your solution. But TinyMCE doesn't seem to work ... not in IE and not in Firefox ?!?! (and with Opera I can't login to admin area ?!?!) I have downloaded and installed the 2.0.5 of TinyMCE and run the 1.0.4 of CMSMS but all I get is an empty textarea, no buttons ... have deinstalled it and installed it again, but no difference. (and: yes I have select it under user options )
Any ideas what could be the problem? Any rights on the server I have to set? Have no plan ... I have seen it for the first time I used TinyMCE but it was not the install of cmsms I have the problem now ...

If the FCK is so bad, why is this editor the first choice for the developers? why don't they kick it out and use the TinyMCE instead?

PS: on another CMSMS installation, I got the TinyMCE to run, but it's not really WYSIWYG find screenshots attached.

1. Check that template you are using has stylesheet attached to it with styles you want to see in FCKEditorX.  If you are not using {stylesheet} tag in your template you still need to attach those styles with a stylesheet for your template in admin area.

2. Check that those styles are in FCKeditorX Styles tab under extensions.

3. FCKeditorX does not like to work with capital letters it seems so do not make styles like div.MyStyle {}

I think CMSMS 2.0 will use TinyMCE.
Sorry you're having problems. I'm currently busy with homework and don't have much time for CMSMS anymore so I can't investigate this further.

If 2.0 uses tiny mce we won't be able to have templates for customers, that's a bummer. I hope it can be turned off. I like just code, but another person using the site needs the wsywig

I attached my stylesheet to the template and then I copied that stylesheet to the styles in the preferences or settings for FCK and I got it to work, hope it helps.
