Problem moving to new server

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Problem moving to new server

Post by curana »

Hi,
Im trying to move to my new server. I made a complete SQL-Dump via phpmyadmin and downloaded all files from my server. I made a new install on the new server including the database and the new modules.

Afterwards I imported the old database, also via phpmyadmin. The problem:

1) I still hv "Congratula..." page in my new layout
2) The menu is not shown correctly, all items are missing

How can that be? I thought the content is saved in the database? On my old server it works. I tried to move the whole old folder to the new server but no success. In this case I get a blank page.

Does anybody have a hint for me? Is it the database going wrong? Is it a permission problem? Im tired of trying blind...

Yes.
Now it works. Seems there was a transfer problem or an error in my sql-script.

Some modules are still not working, e.g. captcha, but Im sure after reinstalling them they will work.

Well, one more problem left:
I cant use the file administration tool. When I want to try to upload, it says "Permission problem", I dont know the correct english message.
I checked all permissions on the server and gave the folder to the Server-user. Also I can create folders, but I cant upload files in there. I checked the umask parameters but no chance.

Any idea what could be the problem?

Try to change file ownership to you and not the webserver. But the umask tip should work.
