- character allowed during installation, but does not work

I installed 1.0.4 yesterday and I had a - character in the admin username. However, this prevented me from logging in. I tried to login about ten times, ensuring I wrote my password correctly and it didn't let me in.

I resolved the problem by removing the - character from the username using phpMyAdmin.
