Hello,

I think I messed something up, and I am not sure how (or if) it can be repaired without reinstalling the cms. The problem is that a client changed the password on me without letting me know. Thinking that the site had been hacked (this has happened once before) I attempted to find the new password in PHPmyAdmin. I browsed the cells containing the username and password, and found the user name correct, but the password a value like 583436a1280f3fd1579dcc52a4e07273. So, I proceeded to change that value to the old password. Unfortunately I found out that my client had changed the password, and now neither of us can get in. Apperantly the password does not show up as the actual value in the mysql table. In there any way short of reinstalling the CMS to repair the damage in PHPmyAdmin?

Thanks
Ted

In PHPMyAdmin, change the password to 21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3. That's the equivilent of 'admin'.

Some follow-up info that may be helpful:

If you're having a problem logging in to the Admin on your local machine, make sure you're firewall is set up to handle it.  Scratched my head a while on that one... ;)
