News module summary link

I am wondering if the following is possible:

I have my news summary appearing in a sidebar in my template.
I have 2 categories: 1. News and 2. What's On
I have 2 separate menu pages (News and What's On) to display the details of each of these categories.
What I want to do is to have the summary of a News category item link to the News page and summary of a What's On category item link to the What's On page (using the morelink in the summary).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello:

Try insert 2 new pages (content)  with options:

Content Type: News

Category:  news  (for category 1)

Category:  addons  (for category 2)

May be you are looking for the 'detailtemplate' and 'detailpage' attributes of the news tag ?

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to this.

I can get different categories to appear in different pages.
What I can't get to happen is when you click a 'summary more link' of a news summary it will go the 'News page' only regardless of what category the article is in.

I tried Madelyn's suggestion which gave me 2 different category pages.

But I couldn't get my head around the different template idea.

If anyone can explain it simply I would glad to try it.
