Permissions 777 - how necessary
My hosting service is upgrading its PHP version to 5, and will enable phpsuexec. After upgrade, the max permissions possible will be 755. I currently use 777 on a few folders in my CMCMC installations, as advised by installation.
What effect, if any, will this have on my installations? just trying to pre-empt any probs.

It sounds like you will be more secure since I think phpsuexec makes 777 not be needed. CMSMS should work fine with 755 and phpsuexec.
