I've just completed a large website for a plant nursery and many of the image filenames are quite lengthy because they contain the genus, species and variety/subspecies. For example "salix_nakamurana_yezoalpina.jpg"
Now if the image name also includes the prefix that CMSMS puts on it for thumbnails, the filename then becomes "thumb_salix_nakamurana_yezoalpina.jpg"
That's a really long filename, so I'm wondering if there is a limit to filename length before problems arise?
Anybody know?
Michael
maximum image filename length?
Re: maximum image filename length?
On modern unix servers you can use file names with a length of 256 chars ...
Re: maximum image filename length?
I've seen them and sorry but they throw errors when viewed with a validator...
