Badass FeedbackForm Problem

Post by Utter »

I'm using FF on a commercial site - the whole thing was a bit flaky but basically useable on my home LAMP setup but when I transferred the site to the real host (on Win2k) the whole thing went doolalley!

The first pic shows how it starts off (not bad except for the Name: inside the field)

The second shows what happens if you try to send it!

Anyone had this happen and can point me in the right direction? I'll keep fiddling with it meanwhile.

Cheers

Can you give me some more information?

CMS version, FF version, and PHP version?

Maybe PM me a link to the actual site?

I haven't seen this happen on any of the platforms I've tested on, but it looks like something serious. I'd like to make sure I can clear it up in the current (and all of the future) releases.

The site is running on a Win2K install with MySQL 4.1.9 CMSMS version is 0.92 FF version is that prior to 0.6 - Will have to wait til tomorrow for confirmation of PHP version cos I can't remember how to find out

Maybe PM me a link to the actual site?

I guess it's possible that things got a bit screwed copying it from one server to another. I should try  reinstalling it.

Cheers!

Solution

Post by sjg »

Just wanted to post the resolution on this one.

It's a bug in the FeedbackForm module. Certain field names can cause the client-facing part of the module to malfunction. In this case, the field was named "Name:" -- changing it to "Your Name:" solved the problem.

The next release of FeedbackForm will fix this problem. Until then, if you experience weirdness like this, try changing your field names (and accept my apologies).
