Can the Uploads module be modified to manage links. In other words, can it print a hyperlink to another page (not a file for download)?
I'm aware of the Bookmarks module, and it does this fine, but what I want is the ability to do something like this:
File1 (click here to view online) or (click here to download)
File2 (click here to view online) or (click here to download)
File3 (click here to view online) or (click here to download)
I can do this with Bookmarks only, but it requires that I manually type each link, and I don't get any information about the date it was posted, the author, etc.
What I'm looking for is the power of the Uploads module, but with hyperlink capability. Maybe I'm just missing something, since I'm new to Uploads...

The uploads module makes no distinction about file type, and therefore it 'sends' every file when you click on the link It also keeps track of downloads, etc. when a link is clicked.
If you've got pdf files or text files or something and want to view them in a page, then this functionality would have to be added somehow. Wouldn't be hard to do though.

Yeah, this would work; not quite exactly what I was thinking of, but I could adapt my project to use this workaround...

Macromedia Flash is the big one I'm dealing with now.
I'm using Camtasia Studio to create the videos, and it has an option to publish the video as an SWF. It also has an option to automatically create an HTML page with the SWF file embedded. I could skip this option if I could use CMSMS to automatically generate the HTML page and view the SWF file inline/embedded. That would actually be a better way to do it, since it would mean I wouldn't have dozens of HTML files on my server. Or, if Uploads could manage links so I could keep track of downloads/views, I could still use the auto HTML option... I've been playing around with this using the Bookmarks module.
Other nice-to-haves would be PDF and Excel.
