How do you mean "but it doesn't look right. It doesn't fit in at all" ?

from a design point of view I think it looks flat, and the way events are listed can be confusing. I know that I can change this, and that's the point I suppose,, but I'm an overworked IT technician in a school. Most of the site I put up, with the help of you at CMSMS, was done in my own time, with nothing more than a thank you. Sometimes you get too tired to delve a little deeper into the code.

You could try this to spice it up a little...

.caledar tr td a
{background-color: #E8E8FF;
color: white
}

/** large calendar rules (assuming table_id='big') **/
/* border on for #big */
#big{
margin: 0px auto;
borer-collapse:    collapse;
border: 1px solid black;
}

#big .calendar-link
{
float: left;
}

/* nice squares for the #big table */
#big th
{
border: 1px solid black;
padding: 3px;
width: 75px;
}

#big td {background-color: #fff;
border: 1px solid #983399;
vertical-align: top;
padding-left: 2px;
padding-top: 1px;
height: 75px;
width: 75px;
}

/* format summaries nicely in #big */
#big
{background-color: #983399;
margin: 0px auto;
padding-left: 0px;
padding-top: 0px;
padding-right: 0px;
padding-bottom: 0px;
}

#big li
{
list-style-type: none;
padding: 0px;
margin: 0px;
}

/* background colours for #big */
#big th
{
color: white;
background-color: #7E7EBE;
}

#big .calendar-empty
{

}

#big .calendar-today
{padding:8px 0 0 2px;
font-weight: normal;
color: #983399;
background-color: #E8E8FF;
}

I charge a monthly rate (leased scheme) for my sites as a lot of small businesses won't or cannot pay big sums up front.

In the long run I make more money but the aim is to help promote the real benefits of having a website and that is not just to say 'Look I have a website' but to enhance prestige, create a subscriber list to eventually market to, communicate via news etc.

I especially want to promote how a true professional service differs from the hobbyist in that a hobbyist buys a copy of Frontpage, dabbles then sells their services as a professional. I on the other hand promote my design skills in communicating the brand which includes colour, typography copywriting etc.

Anyway I wanted to say a big  :-* for such an excellent CMS and I will be slipping some money your way via Paypal very shortly ;)

PS. I almost forgot! My first CMSMS site is http://www.185theterrace.com

The only thing I think I got a bit stuck on was Menu Manager when it comes to the Beverages sub menus. I chose instead to go with a hardcoded navigation list using {cms_selflink page='' text=''} links.

added another couple to my CMSMS list now! www.goldfm.net - a radio station in the canaries (design is mine, content is down to them!) and http://clik.to/guiafutbol - a site I am currently doing as a freebie for a mate for a kids' footy team in the latest CMSMS, which I have to say is a great improvement! Fantastic work chaps!

The first one, header graphic repeats in full screen mode... maybe copy some of the end of it for a background when it gets too big to hold the original img.
The replay page has links to media files when clicked give page not found error...

Second one.. what kind of a popup was trying to open up?...

stinhambo...

Nice site, the second level menu can be used with {menu items='beer&spirits,champagne&wine,redwine,cocktails'} or if they are the only second level pages...
(optional) start_level="2" - This option will have the menu only display items starting a the given level. An easy example would be if you had one menu on the page with number_of_levels='1'. Then as a second menu, you have start_level='2'. Now, your second menu will show items based on what is selected in the first menu.

What size screen are you using and what browser, as I checked it in mine in fullscreen and it works ok?... I did actually make the image larger for this purpose, so if I can see it, I'll recify it... with regards to the replay files, that's down to the station, so I'll pass that on.

Thanks for letting me know!!! :D

Ah... that may explain it... mine's 17". I was sure I made the banner 1300 though... ah well!

Thanks for letting me know!

EDIT: Just checked the banner and it's 1046 px wide, so that explains it...

I have set the max width to 1045 px and used an IE fix to make it work in IE too, however I only have a 17" monitor, so can't see if it works!

Can you do me a favour and have a look and see if that does the job, as making the image wider, would mean redo-ing it at this stage and considering it was a freebie for a mate is just tooooo much hassle at the moment.

It was quite funny how I ended up doing that site, as it happens... The radio station in question was set up by a bloke I used to co-present the brekky show on another station out here with before my kids were born. I went to his site and noticed he had installed CMSMS and had used the default installation - in fact it still had CMS Made Simple Demo emblazoned across the title bar!

So... I took a template from one of my other sites, changed the colours and banner around copied all the stylesheets and templates into their CMS to fix it for them. They're not an 'affluent' radio station just yet, but without a reasonably professional-looking website, they don't have a chance of getting there, as advertisers will just think they are Mickey Mouse.... so I felt it was my duty to help out seen as I have worked with CMSMS on a number of sites now and understand the templates and stylesheets.

In return they are going to give me free advertising for one of my other sites when I've finished translating it into Spanish, which is a big help for me, so the old adage is correct... "what goes around, comes around!" :D

So... with that in mind, anyone else that wants the code for fluidity with a fixed maximum width that works in IE too, here it is :
max-width:800px; //for 'normal' browsers! lol
width:expression(document.body.clientWidth > 800? "800px": "auto" ); //for IE browsers
Where the red bits are the maximum width you want. If you want to set it by character size (em) instead, see THIS page for a full explanation.

Mark, you have a fatal error on the 'Form Page' of your site...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: loadformmethods() in /homepages/24/d151200904/htdocs/lib/classes/class.module.inc.php on line 1507

I used the Reservation module... funnily enough ;)

I had one or two problems when I was first setting it up, however the programmer of this particular module was very helpful.

You can see it all on this thread : http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... l#msg33525

Also, CMSMS and the Reservation module itself, has been upgraded since I installed it on there, so you might find it works without a hitch now.
