Open Source CMS Award 2006

Post by tynmar »

Hi !

I just wonder why CMSMS is not on the Open Source CMS Award 2006 top list ?  ??? I used Drupal / Joomla & Xoops. CMSMS is the easiest way to develop a simple or very complex website. The only con is that CMSMS has not a big community as Joomla for example.

Anybody knows if CMSMS was on this competition ?

We were in the original nominations.  Unfortunately, the contest was designed to be a popularity contest and not an actual test for the usefulness of a system.  It was pretty much a given that the systems with the largest community would win...  even though we've consistently been in the top 5 CMS systems on opensourcecms.com for months now (drupal and xoops are not).

I didn't think we had a chance from the beginnning.  :)

In my opinion I prefer CMSMS philosophy. I begin creating my own modules, it's a bit difficult but I want to. Maybe I'll post them when I'll finished, it should be usefull.
Is somebody has an exercice to create a simple module using ModuleMaker ?

There is some documentation on creating modules. Also the API docs (especially for class CMSModule) can be of help.
Make sure to take a look at the Skeleton Module (preferably the SVN version), it gives a simple module example.
