Hi this is my first post and of course I have a problem.
I have tried installing the Forum module v0.3 but to no avail. I can see the files in the directory (via ftp) and have changed the permissions to 777 but the Modify Forum does not appear in the Group Permissions list.
I have FrontEnd User installed (no problems) ( I have also installed the Album module, no problem) but cannot get the Forum to work.
Is it because it is only an alpha version?
Has anyone any ideas about what I might be missing?
Forummadesimple installation
Re: Forummadesimple installation
How did you install it and what are the setting in your File Creation Mask (umask): under Site Admin » Global Settings...
Re: Forummadesimple installation
Thanks for your reply.
I tried a couple of ways. First: Installed via Module Manager, then I had to click on install on the Modules page.
Second: Uploaded via an xml file v0.3
Third: deleted from the directory then added via ftp.
The File Creation Mask was at the default of 022.
I then set the unmask to 000.
and tried all 3 ways again. To no avail.
I did notice that after the first attempt, the Module Manger kept giving me an error of not finding an instance of the module. Even though I could see it in the Modules list.
Hope this is clear. I think I have tried all manner of combinations.

Re: Forummadesimple installation
Have you tried clearing the cache in Site Admin>Globlal Settings after the install/s...
In each uninstall instance you may have wanted to try the uninstall then remove in "Modules"...

Re: Forummadesimple installation
I tried clearing the cache but it did not change anything.
So I tried going back to square one. I uninstalled then deleted the Directory "Forum" via ftp.
So now it does not appear in the "modules" list.
Then went to "Module Manager" and pressed "Download & Install". I then get the following message:
"Error!
Module installation failed :Internal error, could not find the instance of a module"
Despite this error message, "Forum" is now listed in "Modules", but is listed as uninstalled.
Though I can see, via ftp, that the folder is on the server.
So I press install in the "Modules" list, now it showing as installed.
This different to how installation of the other modules worked.
But the Admin Log shows nothing has been installed and when I look at my database details, no tables have been installed.
It looks like the original install procedure (ie. form the "Module Manager") is not doing it's job properly.
Why should the other modules install OK but not this one?

Re: Forummadesimple installation
I believe that is a very ALPHA module at the moment and would suggest using the FTP method if it is available...
Module Manager can be troublesome at times...
