Flat menu?

Post by oreb »

I'm just, just getting started and really like the examples and adaptability of CMMMS. I have my default install (without a hitch, TYVM) but I'd like, along with adapting the template, to have a flat menu. Is it the layer thingy that makes the default slide-out? If I deactivate it, what will I have to work with for the menu section?

Really, really just getting started. Sorry if the answer's obvious.

Try a search here for 'Bulletmenu' for a number of ideas and solutions.

Excellent! Thanks.

That solved that issue; I'd never have thought of the correct search for that one.

But is there a way to edit the various sections, i.e. the menu section itself? I understand that entries can be included in the menu but how can I develop the format of the menu. For instance, if I don't want the bullets or want to add other items to the menu, is this possible?

Thanks again.

I would advise you to look into the fascinating possibilities of styling these dummy lists with pure CSS. A prime source for this is:
http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/. It has many advantages over JS based menus - compact, accessible code, works in all new browsers and degrades gracefully in older ones. You can even do tricky image swap effects as on my own website (icon to your left).

Thanks. I'll check into that. Actually, I didn't want JS or any tricky stuff; just straight HTML links. But I will have a look.

Thanks again.
