XML installation problem with modules

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

XML installation problem with modules

Post by bikerider »

Hi,
I can't install modules using XML due to server restrictions "open_basedir restriction in effect"

Is there any way I can convert XML for module installation back into the old format of files like what was in a zip or tar.gz

Which Module do you need in folder format?

cataloger is the module I want.  I had CMSMS 0.13 working with cataloger  0.4.2  (the last release with a tar.gz ) and then I upgraded to CMSMS 1.02.

So either I can try changing the rowcount calls to recordcount or hopefully find a way to install cataloger 0.5.3 usinf files rather than XML.

I'd try the rowcount change first...

Or I could upload it, latest 0.5.3, in xml to mine then zip the folder for you...

Ended up setting up a local CMSMS on a Win 98se box.  Apache, PHP, MySql.

Install modules there and then transfer.  Complicated but not impossible.

I spoke to my web hosting company as well and they got round the base_dir restrictions but I still have major problems with file permissions.

So much easier to ftp modules etc.
