Is it possible to jump to a mid point on a different page?

Post by jen »

Hello,

Is it possible to jump to a point a certain distance down a different page to the one which the link is on? I am trying to do this from the image link on the home page (the 'image reports' one in the left hand column) to the relevant article on the 'press coverage' page.

I have tried using #imgrep after the address of the page with a link at the right point in the page () as suggested here: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutorials/ge ... hp/3479511 but without success.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,
Jen

That should work (it does overhere). In FCKEditor you can use the anchor button to create the anchor link.

Thanks for the quick response Dee.

I've just checked it out in safari and it works fine - I guess it must just be that safari doesn't recognise that bit of HTML...

FCKEditor doesn't seem to work on Safari either - is this something I've done wrong or is it just not compatible?

Cheers,
Jen

Yeah FCK Editor is great but not on Safari, cause basically is a bit of a joke...

Think of it as a free bit of shareware that gets bundled with your mac... its great, its cool, but when you want to get a job done... get FireFox...

Safari lacks the all important fully implemented 'Document Object Model' (DOM) that is used by Firefox, IE6 (PC) and the like... Apple had the opportunity but rather than get help they got proprietry.

You'll find that the majority of things work fine for users viewing CMSMS sites but they'll not be able to use FCKEditor to WYSIWIG edit pages...

Oh and Steve... Fix the fonts on OSX before even trying to sell me a new mac.
