Line breaks instead of Paragraphs in FCKeditor... Help please.

Post by cnymike »

I may be doing something wrong, but I cannot seem to get legitimate paragraph tags when using the FCKeditor in cmsms.

All I get is

Code: Select all

<br>
tags instead. I've tried many things such as, removing all formating and starting over, pasting unformatted text into my pages and then using the return key to double space between paragraphs but no matter what I try, FCKeditor still insists on entering break tags instead of paragraph tags. This is driving me crazy and I have about 90 pages on my website under construction that I need to format using paragraphs instead of break tags.

What's the deal with this? Am I doing something wrong, or is fckeditor incapable of inserting paragraph tags? Do I need to manually enter paragraph tags in Source mode? I hope not.

I'm on a Mac by the way. Using either Camino or Firefox.

Well, I guess I've found out one thing... this seems to be a FCKeditor and Macintosh issue, not a PC issue.

I fired up my copy of Virtual PC and discovered that in Windows, using IE, the editor inserts paragraph tags as you would expect. But on a Mac, break tags are inserted instead of paragraph tags.

What a headache this is.

IE gives on enter and
