Using 1.0.2.
Using the default 'News' module.
On the summary page, article titles and the 'More' link both point to specific articles, but clicking simply reloads the summary page.
Check it on http://www.stjohnsjfc.co.uk//news/.
does is sound like a 'friendly url' problem, perhaps?
I should make clear that this problem has only just surfaced; not sure for how long it's been an issue; it used to work; I've reset the summary/content news templates to default, just in case.
(Unrelated: anyone tweaked news so that you don't have to fill in both summary AND content, but just use first 20 or so words of the content as an automatic summary??)
thanks

Re: News Module Broken
Isnt this the default behaviour if you only fill content and it exceeds something like 300characters?mark_l_sanders wrote:

Re: News Module Broken
Possibly, but many of the news items I need to create are very short, so I could do without having a separate summary and contents field!! I am currently forced to put the entire text into 'content' and then put the first few words followed by an ellipse (or similar) into 'Summary'. Painful.
Anyway, it's not working at all at the moment (see main post)...

Re: News Module Broken
Hi Mark!
If you don't use the Summary text field, your text [from the Content] will be displayed but without the 'more' link after it.
Hope this helps

I am using the News module, and although I don't have an automated solution for you, I can let you know that the 'Summary' section is NOT COMPULSORY, but the CONTENT is ... see the * beside 'Content' on your screen? Those fields are compulsory [required].mark_l_sanders wrote: Unrelated: anyone tweaked news so that you don't have to fill in both summary AND content, but just use first 20 or so words of the content as an automatic summary??
