Hi,
Some weird issue. Installed Gastbook in version 1.3 Maui. When I go to the site and click on the menu 'Gastenboek', sometime no buttons show up and sometime 2 buttons show up. Has anyone seen this before? How can I solve this thing?

Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
Re: Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
In 0.13 there were issues when existing content was changed to the Guestbook content type; you had to create new content and change the content type to Guestbook immediately. Actually I thought this didn't happen anymore in cmsmadesimple-1.0.2 (will do some testing to see if I can reproduce the issue).
Try re-adding the Guestbook content (delete it and create a new page) or reinstalling the module if that doesn't work.

Re: Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
It's getting stranger all the time, I don't see Guestbook in Extesions -> modules menu, though it is on the site
Re: Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
Hmm, that's strange indeed
It's possible that there's Guestbook content present (or normal content that calls the module with the {cms_module} tag), even when the module is not installed. But... if you installed it, it will/should be present in the Extensions -> Modules list.
Re: Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
Tried to reinstall it, No luck:
Pressed F5, sunddenly the Extensions -> Module expanded and I saw the other installed modules. Uninstalled Guestbook, and reinstalled it (Guestbook-1.1.2.xml), and got the same message. I don't understand it

If you want to install using .xml files (and/or ModuleManager) then the modules folder (and all of its contents) must be writable by the webserver.
When there is a "Change Permissions" link for the Guestbook module in the modules list the webserver doesn't have write permissions and you can try using the link to change the permissions.

Re: Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
I checked the permissions of the directory 'Modules'. This is set to 777. The directories underneath it are all set to 755. I noticed that this is done during instalation of a module. Suggestion to change the permissions set by the installation module?
In the menu Extensions->Modules I see 'Change permissions' behind serveral modules. If I click one, the following message appears:
Couldn't change permissions on some files (Troubleshooting)
Without any clear explaination, after clicking on "Change ...' I see more or less modules. It seems very spooky...

Re: Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
It's getting stranger all the time. I have got admin rights on the webserver as well as in my cmsms. After the previoud described problems, I'm no longer able to change permissions of file and directories. This means that it is not possible to ermove the entire installation to go far a re-install. How can solve this? I already sent an emil to the webhoster.
Re: Buttons in Gastbook do not show up or show up double
Sometimes it is better to do a re-install instead of keep looking for a solution, especially if there is no content put in the database. By now, it seems stable.
Thanks for your help anyway!
