Firefox vs. Explorer template display issue

Post by jmcgin51 »

Well, for once, Explorer is doing what I want, while Firefox isn't...  That's certainly not something I'm used to!!!!

Can anyone explain what would cause the page to render as shown in the attached images?  This only happens when the user is not logged in and attempts to view the page.  If they are authorized, the page displays normally in both browsers (with the footer at the bottom, where it should be).

The template is based on Bulletmenu Vert 1col+News, and I really didn't change anything except to add some CustomContent tags.  Running CMSMS v.13.

As noted above, v.13 stable.

katahdindesigns.com/cnh/cms

This will take you to the login page.  To see an example of what I see, try going directly to a page as follows:

katahdindesigns.com/cnh/cms/index.php?page=links

In Explorer, the "you are not logged in" message will display to the left of the white content area, and the footer will be below, as it should be.  But in Firefox, it appears that the "you are not logged in" message appears on the left side of the footer, pushing the real footer text to the right.  But if you view page src, "you are not logged in" is not in the footer.  That's what I don't understand.

I thought I was just missing a closing tag of some sort, probably a , but I'm not. (as far as I can see, and I've checked it three times, printing it out and manually crossing off each matching pair of divs)

thanks for your help!

Could be 1 of 2 reasons or both...

1) you have a float on main, when I took it out it showed like it should.

2) you have 1 too many ...

thanks, Mark - I'll look into both of those issues.  The "float" was in the original template; I didn't add that.  The I'm sure I added, but I triple-checked it and didn't catch it, so I'll have to take another look.  That was my original guess...

Thanks again,
