Upgrade versus New install

I have 2 websites, one of which is live with 0.13 and the other is just starting development.  So, I upgraded the live website to 1.02 but the other one I did a new install to 1.02 as there was nothing worth keeping.

Two questions:
  o  why do I get a different set of templates with the new install than for the upgrade?
  o  more importantly, how can I get the new templates that appear in the new install - for example "CSS Menu top +2 columns" into my upgraded site?

Sorry thes are probably dumb questions, answers will need to be some simple steps!

open it and copy/paste into new one on other site, be sure to do the same for all CSS attached to it, and reattach to new one.

Upgrade doesnt overwrite your old templates it only upgrade db schema to latest version.

New install gives you new templates.
