Missing pages!

Post by scotch33 »

A page has disappeared in one of my CMSmadesimple sites - I didn't delete the page and yet it is gone!

The page had a child which in the front end, has become the child of another page(?!?).  Furthermore, in the back end neither the page that has disappeared NOR the page that is now the child of another are there!  I am guessing that there has been a glitch somewhere that is causing the oage not to be there!  Has anyone come across this sort of thing before?

Hi,

I have been using cmsms for several months now.  I have never loved a cms as much as cmsms.  ;)  Anyway,  one of my pages just disappeared.  It has never happened before.  But my latest project I am using canary version and the page just vanished.  I was rearranging the page and "poof" it was like magic gone in thin air.  First I thought I hit the delete by accident.  But, it is impossible, the delete is located far away.  I am checking my db tables to see if it is there and to see if a miswrite occurred.  It was my faq page using pifaq. Luckily I did not do much to the page, but I am curious where it went.  Hoping it doesn't happen again.

Ok I found the missing faq page in my database in contents.  Not sure what to do now.  ??? ??? ??? but it's there.  Need to figure out why it is not being queried and shown.  hmmmm

phewww I restored my faq page back.  Luckily it was still in the db table.  For some reason "item_order" was 11 and I had two 11's.  Not sure how it got assigned an existing item order number.  I had 1-11 and 13-15 but no 12.  So I manually saved it as 12 in my db and refreshed my cmsms admin and it came back.  I guess there was a glitch when I was using the blue arrow to move it up.  I'm ok now. :)

I have to correct myself here.  There can be duplicate item_order numbers.  Since you can have page 1 with 3 childs.  Anyway it must had something to do with item_order and missing hierarchy.  Not sure what happened but just happy it works again.  :)
