{Content Aliases Module} Does it work?

Post by Jellybean »

Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie so please excuse my potentially stupid question.

I have content on my site that can be accessed from multiple menu items.  I don't want to have to duplicate the content for each location it can be accessed from.  Is there a way to create a menu item that automatically pulls content from another page?

Ex) I might have the Event Photos page under ...

a) Special Events
b) Photo Gallery

Thanks in advance!

EDIT:  I figured out that the Content Aliases module does exactly this.  I uploaded it to my modules folder but then it causes listmodules.php to come up blank and I can't install it.  I tried the patch too - still doesn't work.  Any ideas??

Can confirm this error with 1.0 and 1.0.1 - admin panel is shown without CSS and on listmodules.php I've got this error:
Fatal error: Class aliasmodule: Cannot inherit from undefined class cmsmodulecontenttype in /usr/export/www/vhosts/funnetwork/hosting/cmsms/modules/ContentAliases/ContentAliases.module.php on line 146

its not 1.0 friendly, please file a bug for the dev to check out

and for the menu, you could use link type and have multiple menu items pointing to same target

hope this helps

There's a patch to make module 1.0 friendly but it doesn't work ...

... and I'm afraid, a link does not help for real cause only the content should copied and show with another template for instance  ::).
